Boxing Day is the traditional 'handing over of power' day for Thames Valley Morris, when the retiring Squire dances out and the new Squire dances in.

It is also a favoured day for apprentices of the side to do their first jig in public and become full members of the side.

Regardless of public holidays TVMM dance on St. Stephen's Day, December 26th, the side dance at all five of the public houses in Claygate. The order has been the same for several years, namely:

11:30 : The Swan, 2 Hare Lane
12:15 : The Foley Arms, Hare Lane
13:00 : The Hare and Hounds, The Green
14:00 : The Winning Horse, 35 Coverts Road
14:30 : The Griffin, 58 Common Road
