Thames Valley Music

Here is a selection of TVMM sounds. There are currently three components.

Most importantly a set of TVMM tunes. They are mostly from the set of cassette tape recordings Cyril Smith made on practice nights in the 70's and 80's, complete with calls and other dance noises in the background. The music is mostly played by John Glaister, but there are others - Ron Horsley for one. There are also later recordings by other musicians, - these are identified by the musician's name in the file name. They are organised into tradition folders.

Secondly, there is a folder of folksongs sung by Clive Carey. Carey was an associate of Cecil Sharp and a collector mainly of folk songs. He was, though, the original notator of the Oddington morris tradition that Roy Dommett subsequently interpreted with the help of TVMM. He is buried in Claygate churchyard.

Thirdly, a substantial set of recollections made by Cyril Smith, a TVMM founder member.
